Panama City Beach, FL

We made it to Panama City Beach, FL around 9:30pm on Wednesday night, and it just so happens that it is spring break down here. It was a very long drive, but totally worth it.  Thanks to a very good family friend of mine, we got to stay at a beautiful house within walking distance to the beach. When we got there we did some laundry and went to bed somewhat early since we were exhausted from the drive.

The weather said it was going to rain in the afternoon on Thursday, so we got up early and walked down the beach, and around town while it was still nice out.  There were a ton of jelly fish washed up on the beach all over the place.  Luckily since they were all washed up on the beach, there weren't any in the water which is good.  We went in a few stores on the strip, and then headed to the grocery store to get some essentials.  Billy's cousins were coming over from New Orleans around 9:30pm that night, and staying with us for the rest of the time we were in Florida.  It never ended up raining on Thursday and it was beautiful the rest of the days we were in FL.

Friday we packed up the cooler and headed to the beach for the day. We had a blast, enjoying the sun, and playing a "Horse Nuts." After the beach we went back to the house to get all cleaned up, and then headed to Margaritaville for dinner.  It was a 2 1/2 hour wait at 8:30, so we ended up going to this other place called "Guy Harvey's Island Grill," It was very good, and we only had to wait 5 minutes. haha.  After dinner we headed downtown to Club La Vela.  It was a pretty hefty cover charge, but when we got inside we had a good time.

On Saturday we woke up, cleaned the house and got packed up again.  We decided to stay at the beach for the remainder of the day and then head to Slidell, LA with his cousins later.  We headed out around 6pm, and on our way to Slidell we stopped at a restaurant called "Fudpuckers."  It was a really cool place with about 80 live alligators all around the restaurant.

We did not get to Slidell until around midnight, so we pretty much went right to bed.  We didn't stop in New Orleans, as we have gone to Mardi Gras before, seen the area.  When we woke up this morning we went to the store to restock on drinks and food, then hit the road.  We are now on our way to Houston TX, where we will stay in a hostel for the night and hopefully tomorrow see the Johnson Space Center before we hit the road again for San Antonio.  Below are some highlights of our time in Florida.
