Washington D.C.

We made it to our hostel around 6pm on Saturday night. This was our first Hostel experience and it was pretty cool. There was around 30 people staying in the hostel, from all over the place.  Some were staying days, weeks, or even months. We got to meet some cool people, and get some good ideas about our trip, from people that had lived in different areas. This particular hostel had dorm style rooms, with bunk beds, and bathrooms on each floor.

Once we got settled in our rooms, and situated in the hostel, we decided to go downtown to see the fireworks for The Annual Cherry Blooms Festival.  We only got to see them for a little bit.  We spent the rest of the night touring D.C.  We saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Memorial.  It was really cool to see them at night apposed to the day, as it was less busy and all light up.

For the next two days we had an "jump on and off" bus tour.  It stop at 30 different stops, and came around every half hour.  We went to Arlington National Cemetery, and saw the Kennedy Memorial, and the Memorial for the Unknown Soldiers. Then we went to the National Museum of Air and Space where Billy went Craaazy!  We also saw a show in the Planetarium called "Journey to the Stars."  After that we were so exhausted, so we went and laid out in the grass in front the of Capital Building and watched the sunset.  It was a good Easter day.

Monday we went back on the bus tour, and got our tickets to the Holocaust Exhibit for later in th day.  We toured the West wing of the National Art Museum, and then the Museum of Natural History.  Once again Billy went Craaazy! Haha!  It was really cool.  We finally made our way to the Holocaust Museum, and it was by far the most moving exhibit of all. It was absolutely chilling. After all the walking, we ended the day like the previous, sitting on the lawn in front of the Washington Monument, enjoying the sun, before it set.  It was great.

Below are some of the highlights of our time in D.C.  Next stop  Raleigh, North Carolina to visit Raff.
